WhatsApp assistant
Link your WhatsApp number and get a digest of what needs you in the groups you pick, with replies drafted for you to approve.
The WhatsApp assistant reads the groups you choose and tells you what needs you. For those messages, it drafts a short reply in your voice. Nothing goes out until you approve it, one message at a time.
Read this first: it links your existing number as a second device, the way WhatsApp Web does. That isn't WhatsApp's official business route. WhatsApp can restrict or permanently ban a number used this way, so you're asked to accept that risk before you pair.
Why it helps
- A regular digest tells you which group messages need you, so you stop scrolling every chat to find them.
- Replies are drafted in your voice from your business facts, so answering takes an edit and a click.
- Your WhatsApp contacts can flow into your CRM, tagged so Orbit can find them.
How to use it
- Open Inbox → WhatsApp. Choose Inbox → WhatsApp. Read Read this before you link a number and tick the box only if you accept the risk.
- Pair your phone. Click Connect WhatsApp. On your phone, open WhatsApp → Settings → Linked Devices → Link a device and scan the code.
- Choose groups to watch. Under Groups to watch, tick the groups that matter, set Digest every and click Save.
- Read what needs you. What needs you fills in on every digest. Click Run digest now for an instant read.
- Approve replies. Click Draft replies. Under Replies to approve, edit the text, then click Approve and send or Discard.
- Bring contacts into your CRM. Under Contacts → CRM, choose Saved contacts only or Everyone I've chatted with, then click Sync to CRM.
Make the most of it
- Use a number you could afford to lose. Linking your main business line is a real risk, not a theoretical one.
- Watch only the groups that need you. Fewer groups make a sharper digest.
- Tick Re-sync every day so new contacts reach your CRM on their own. Then ask Orbit for "my WhatsApp contacts".
- If a reply says Couldn't confirm this went out, check the group on your phone, then mark it sent or send it again.
- Disconnect unlinks the device and stops everything at once. Your phone keeps working as normal.
Questions
Can WhatsApp ban my number?
Yes. This links your number the way WhatsApp Web does and drives it automatically, which WhatsApp does not permit. They can restrict or permanently ban the number, usually with no appeal.
Does it ever send on its own?
No. Each reply goes out only when you click Approve and send, once, as a reply in a group you're already in. It never messages new people or sends in bulk.
Can my teammates read my groups?
No. WhatsApp is owner-only, and messages are stored for your account alone.
Does it copy my chats into the CRM?
No. Contacts → CRM brings in names and numbers only, never messages. Contacts with only a phone number are never emailed.
