API and MCP: use AiExpert from Claude, ChatGPT and your code
Run your workspace from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or your own code: read your data, brief Experts and update records, with approvals intact.
API & MCP lets an AI assistant or your own code work in your workspace. MCP is the standard way assistants like Claude and ChatGPT plug into other tools. Connect once, then ask Claude to read your Business DNA, check your pipeline or brief an Expert.
Everything acts as you, with your rights in the app. Nothing is emailed, posted or paid through it: that still waits for your approval in the app. Developers will find every tool in the developer reference at aiexpert.com/developers.
Why it helps
- You can brief Experts and check your numbers from the assistant you already use, without switching tabs.
- Your scripts and tools can update contacts, deals and tasks directly, so nobody copies data by hand.
- Approvals still apply, so a connected tool can never send, post or spend on its own.
How to use it
- Open Settings → API & MCP. Choose Settings → API & MCP. Only the workspace owner sees this page.
- Connect Claude.ai or ChatGPT. Copy the MCP server URL and add it as a custom connector under Settings → Connectors in Claude or ChatGPT. Approve it on the page that opens.
- Create a key for other tools. Under Create a key, name it after where it will live, tick Write, Brief Experts or Approve as needed, and click Create key.
- Copy the key once. Click Copy key straight away. It's shown once and can't be shown again, so treat it like a password.
- Paste the snippet. Under Connect, pick Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor or REST (curl) and copy the snippet. It already holds your new key.
- Revoke what you don't use. Under Your keys, click Revoke to stop a key. Under Connected apps, click Disconnect to remove Claude.ai or ChatGPT.
Make the most of it
- Give each tool its own key, named after where it lives. Then you can revoke one without breaking the others.
- Leave Approve off unless you need it. It approves documents, SEO plans and Pulse runs; sending, posting and spending stay in the app.
- Add Event endpoints to send payments, new contacts or delivered work to your own address as they happen, signed so you can check they came from us.
- Briefing Experts through the API is billed like a run in the app.
Questions
Can Claude or a script send emails or post for me?
No. Sending a campaign, publishing a post, changing an ad and creating payment links are approved in the app, where you see exactly what goes out.
Is it on the free plan?
The free plan can read through the API. Writing, briefing Experts and event endpoints need the paid plan. See Plans, runs and using your own AI key.
What can a key do?
Every key can read. Write changes records like contacts, deals, tasks and drafts. Brief Experts starts Expert work. Approve approves documents, SEO plans and Pulse runs.
Why don't I see API & MCP?
It's for the workspace owner only, and it's rolling out to workspaces in stages.
