Email marketing: campaigns that go out on approval
Write a newsletter or offer email, or have Nova draft it, then send it to your whole list, a tag or a segment once you approve it.
Email marketing lives in Grow → Email marketing. A campaign is one email, or a short series, that goes to everyone on your list, a tag or a saved segment. You write it in the editor, start from a template, or have Nova draft it from a few bullet points.
Nothing goes out until you press Approve and send, in the campaign itself or from Approvals. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe. Anyone who unsubscribes, bounces or marks you as spam goes on your do-not-mail list and is never mailed again.
Why it helps
- Your newsletter gets written in minutes: Nova turns your notes into a full draft that you edit and approve.
- Unsubscribes, bounces and spam complaints are handled for you, so you never mail someone who asked you to stop.
- You send to your whole list, a tag or a saved segment from one place, instead of exporting contacts to another tool.
How to use it
- Fill in your sender details. In Grow → Email marketing, open Settings. Under Sender identity, add your From name and a Postal address, which the law requires in every marketing email footer.
- Create a campaign. Open Campaigns and press New campaign. Name it, choose who it goes to under Send to, and press Create and write the email.
- Write it, or ask Nova. Add a subject, Preview text (snippet) and the body. Use Start from template, or Write with Nova to get a draft from a short brief.
- Personalize and test. Insert a first name or company from Personalize, and try a second subject line in Subject B (A/B test) if you like. Press Send me a test to check it in your own inbox.
- Approve and send. Press Approve and send email 1 and confirm. A series can use Send now + schedule instead, so each follow-up goes out after its delay.
- Read the report. Open a sent email to see its Report: delivered, opened, clicked, bounced and unsubscribed. Press Refresh report for the latest numbers.
Make the most of it
- Brief Nova with your bullet points from Task ideas. The draft waits in Approvals with a Send… button, and in Campaigns for you to edit.
- Send to a tag or a segment rather than everyone. Smaller, more relevant sends get fewer complaints and keep your sending healthy.
- Judge an email by its clicks. Opens are approximate, because some mail apps load every image automatically.
- Press Duplicate on last month's campaign to keep the layout and only change the words.

Questions
Does anything send on its own?
No. A campaign goes out only when you press Approve and send in the campaign, or Send… on its card in Approvals. Follow-ups you schedule then go out at their delays, and deleting the campaign stops them.
Do I need my own domain to send?
No. Until you verify your own domain under Settings → Sending domain, mail goes out from the default sender. Verify your domain when you want to send from your own address.
Can I email a list I bought?
No. Email here is for people who opted in: they signed up, bought from you or asked to hear from you. Bought or scraped lists aren't allowed, and high complaint or bounce rates pause sending automatically.
What does it cost?
You can write and send campaigns on the free plan; Nova's drafts use your team's runs. Sequences and automations, which send while you're away, need the paid plan. See Plans and runs.
